Rosmond Duzich Thormahlen and Ryanne Duzich are local Galveston girls, however they are not BOI’s, but like to consider themselves “Imports” with just as much love and commitment as a BOI to Galveston. Their family has been contributing to Galveston since 1990 with projects like Fisherman’s Wharf, Fish Tales and the Spot to name a few.
Rosmond graduated from Johnston and Wales University in Miami. The school finalized her love for the restaurant world as Johnston and Wales was an all encompassing school, helping her to bring together her life experiences with a fundamental culinary education. After graduation, she met an Aggie Marine Corps Aviator, and set aside her love for the culinary world to marry and start a family. For the last eight years Rosmond chose to follow her heart and has been a proud Marine Corps wife.
Ryanne has always been interested in the restaurant business. However, her traits are a bit different than her sister’s. Ryanne is highly experienced with front of the house operations and used these skills the last eight years in a variety of ways. She is capable in any position that the front of the house offers and is truly gifted when it comes to managing it. Ryanne also attended culinary school in Austin, Texas, to gain more culinary knowledge, but her second love, acting, took Ryanne to California for the past 8 years where she worked in all aspects of the film industry.
The Duzich girls were just recently given an opportunity to take over the only restaurant in the hospital district in Galveston, an offer they could not pass up. With their rich history in the seafood industry, recreational fishing, and restaurants the girls have put their passion to work on their beloved island.
